What We Collect

The Philanthropic Archives collects organizational records and personal and family papers that document the history of philanthropy, charity, and nonprofit organizations in northeast Ohio. These materials include the following:

  • Grant files for approved and declined projects
  • Board and committee minutes
  • Administrative and financial records
  • Scrapbooks
  • Publications (annual reports, pamphlets, programs, etc.)
  • Correspondence
  • Oral history tapes and transcripts
  • Photographs
  • Audio and video tapes
  • Conference and seminar proceedings
  • Studies and surveys
  • All other source materials that reflect on philanthropy in greater Cleveland and northeast Ohio
